Kym Pitman is originally from Adelaide but has been a resident of Bellingen and environs in the New South Wales mid-north coast hinterland for 12 years. She recorded and co-produced her first album "Same River, Same Song" in 1992. "Woman of the Moon" is her second album.

Kym has performed at Maleny/Woodford Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Canberra National Folk Festival, Fringe Festival Adelaide and Bellingen Global Carnival. She has been performing as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and fiddle player both solo and with various bands, including Ibis, at venues throughout Australia since 1978.

Her busy career also includes being a single mother to a family of happy and talented children, and teaching high school drama.

She has written and produced several very successful musical and dramatic productions dealing with issues faced by young people today. and has also written some songs relating to themes such as youth suicide, and broken families, such as the song "Lifeblood" on this album.
